From the hotel, head west towards Krottenkopfstraße and from there over the blooming meadows to the northern shore of Barmsee. Continue along the lake before following the signs towards Gerold. A short, steep climb leads the path out of the forest onto a meadow. Here you can enjoy the breathtaking panorama of the local mountain scenery. Continue along the right bank of Geroldsee towards Gerold. In summer, be sure to take a swim here before heading back to Klais via the cycle path. After passing under the federal road, turn left towards the gas station. Just before it, turn right, go up to the Sonnenhügel and follow the forest path to Grubsee. Then continue to the Alpengasthof Barmsee (opportunity for a stop). From there, follow the road to Krün, turn left after the car park, and walk along the Kranzbach, past Maximilianshof and back to Krün via Krottenkopfstraße.
