Author’s recommendation
Further to the viewing terrace of the Chiemgau: Hochfelln 1,748m (in about 2 hours: 4.5 km / 500 m ascent and descent)
And those who keep their eyes open and ears alert will surely hear the whistle of one or another “Mankei” (marmot) and then immediately see it dash away.
The hammer smithy museum in the listed bell foundry was already mentioned in documents in 1646. The still functional, over 350-year-old "bell foundry", whose technical facility along with the associated economic buildings have been preserved in the original location, comprises the workshop building with two water wheels and an elevated trough, grinding shop, residential house, and stables. An exhibition in the front annex and in the hammer room, as well as a film from 1955 about the last cowbell order, immerse visitors in the world of the venerable smithing craft. www.museum-glockenschmiede.de
