This route connects the port of Korfos with the capital of Manolas, via an old cobblestone winding trail that covers 200m of elevation.
This route connects the settlement of Manolas with its sea gate, Korfos. This is a typical case of a port and a settlement that is secured at higher altitudes from raids of any kind. The wide staircase that stands between 2 white walls from the sea to the settlement was cobbled and its cementing was one of the first priorities of the settlement as the know-how of cement constructions reached this place. This staircase - 1 km in length - covers an altitude difference of almost 200 meters and once covered all the supply needs of probably all 3 settlements located on the island. There is no question of passability as the route runs entirely on cement cobblestones. At the port, the hiker can find taverns, although probably they won't be open until summer. This trail offers a unique view of the inside of the Caldera, the remains of the old volcano that used to integrate Thirasia and Santorini in a huge circular mountain, before it errupted.
