Thirasia Trail 3 - Manolas - Potamos - Agrilia - Manolas
Walk the beautiful old trails that connect the traditional settlements of Manolas, Potamos and Agrilia in this circular route.
This circular route connects the settlement of Manolas with the settlement of Potamos and that of Agrilia. Starting from Manolas, the hiker follows a NW direction to approach the settlement of Potamos. Passing by the football field and the Health Center of the settlement, the route enters a gentle downhill cement road which gradually develops into a path. At a short distance the hiker enters the higher neighborhoods of Potamos and from there descends between beautiful houses and imposing churches on the main street of the settlement. Now the route follows an asphalt road in the direction of the settlement of Agrilia. At a distance of about 800 meters and after 2 90 degrees corners, the route enters the almost abandoned settlement of Agrilia through a neat cobblestone path. Here the hiker can choose between 2 possible ways. The main direction goes up towards the village's church, where it finds a way out to the upper part of the settlement and on a beautiful path that moves along the ridge that separates the ravine occupied by the settlement from the adjacent one (which also hosts a few houses of the settlement). From here the hiker has a panoramic view of the many cave houses that line the gully giving a particularly exotic image. This route gradually climbs towards the beginning of the ravine and in a short distance leaves the settlement of Agrilia and enters that of Manolas, thus completing its circle. The alternative route here is through the gully, where an old path gives access to all of these old dwellings. Vegetation is present within the path without being a hindrance for the hikers. Here the uphill gradually fades and the route meets the aforementioned main path, coming from above, to enter the settlement of Manolas.

Access to the island is from Santorini. The distance is short and the Santorini - Thirasia route takes from approximately 10 to 45 minutes depending on the ferry and the port of departure.
There are 3 different ways to get to Thirassia:
From Athinios (Santorini's main port): This is the only way to get to Thirassia bringing along your car. One can take the local ferry or the Seajets liner (Andros Jet). The routes run several times a week.
From Ammoudi (port of Oia): The distance from Ammoudi to the port of Riva is the closest between Santorini and Thirasia. A local boat makes daily routes to Riva and Corfos.
From the old port of Fira (Mesa Gialos): To get from here to Thirassia you should contact one of the tourist agencies of Fira that organize excursions to the islands around Santorini.
