The Ziroger high path

Ascent: From Gossensaß (1080 m) always following marker 22 eastwards, crossing under the motorway up to Hochwiedenhof and continuing on path 22 in switchbacks mostly through forest up to the Hühnerspiel hut (1868 m; summer operation; just under 2½ hours). High path: From the Hühnerspiel hut on the high path (marker 11) northwards, partly level, partly briefly descending to the mountain meadows of the upper Daxalm, then crossing the steep forest slopes several times up and down to the extensive Ziroger Alm (1762 m, refreshment stop) and up to the Enzian hut (1903 m; shelter, open almost all year; about 2 hours from Hühnerspiel). Then continuing following marker 11 mostly on good path with a very gentle descending traverse northwards, passing the slightly lower Gröbneralm, through forest slopes to the small Lueger Alm by a stream trench (1601 m; 1 hour from Enzian hut); about 3 hours from Hühnerspiel.
