The hiking tour known as the Triangle – Triangle Round – between the hiking association huts Jøldals-, Gjevilvass- and Trollheimshytta is a classic hike with two to three overnight stays in the heart of the Trollheimen mountains. The tour is characterized almost throughout by excellent views in alpine and dwarf shrub terrain; the stony high mountain sections are limited to the pass crossing from Gjevilvass- to Trollheimshytta as well as the scenic Geithøtta. The round can of course be extended with various summit climbs, and the path between Trollheimshytta and Jøldalshytta can be taken via two alternative routes.
Day 1: From Gjevilvasshytta, a grassy path beside a pasture leads us downhill to an unpaved road, which leads right towards the swimming area Raudøra. At a fork we continue straight ahead, cross the mountain brook Gjørdøla on a bridge and arrive at a large hiking parking lot. Here we turn right onto the signposted hiking trail towards Trollheimshytta. In a sparse mountain birch forest with scattered pines, accompanied by the rustling of the Røstbekken, we ascend. The Okla is visible on the left, while the mountain brook Gravbekken rushes below us. We quickly gain elevation, leave the forest and continue at about 1000 m altitude without climbing until the mouth of the Tverrbekken. About 500 meters further upstream we cross the Gravbekken on a bridge. We climb the flank of the Blåhøa and thus pass through the high valley of the Tverrbekken, into which many streams flow and which is intersected by marshes. One valley step higher, we pass two cirque lakes below the surrounding mountain
