Sport and enjoyment for hikers and nature lovers
The starting point, the high plateau of Monte Pana (1636 m), is accessible from St. Christina in Gröden. From here, take trail No. 30 towards Cunfin Böden. After about one hour of walking, trail No. 531 branches off to the left, leading up to the foot of the Plattkofel. Via a short section of trail 9a, you reach the Murmeltierhütte at 2133 meters (approx. 2 hours walking time). From there, it is not far via trail No. 527 to the Plattkofelhütte at 2300 meters, the highest point of the circular hike (approx. 15 minutes walking time). Via trail No. 9, it goes down in about 20 minutes to Berghaus Zallinger (2054 m). Very close by (approx. 10 minutes walking time), on the edge of the Saltria forest, lies the Williamshütte (2100 m), with a view of the mountain panorama. Then trail 7a leads down to Saltria to another hut of the circular hike, the Saltner Schwaige (1740 m, approx. 30 minutes walking time).
