You’ll walk along the banks of the peaceful Viaur and the winding Lézert before reaching the plateau for a magnificent view of the village of Mirandol and its surroundings.
Good to know:
Located in the town of Mirandol-Bourgnounac, the hamlet of La Rivière was the birthplace of two remarkable women: the mother of Jean Boudou, author of the *Contes du Viaur* (Albanie Balssa), and his aunt Doria, both daughters of Jean-Baptiste Balssa, uncle of Honoré de Balzac.
Viewpoint on the plateau.
In April, you can see daffodils.

From Mirandol, follow signs for La Salvetat Peyralès. At Port de la Besse, take the Route de la Rivière-Crespin. Park there.
Take the small road at the far end of the square toward Les Espedrels.
1. About 700 m further on, continue along the dirt path straight ahead. 2. After 200 m, leave the path and take the trail that descends to the left. Follow the main path, ignoring the trails to the right, until you reach the banks of the Lézert stream. 3. Follow the stream to Port de la Besse. 4. Cross the road and continue straight ahead on the path that follows the Viaur River upstream. Continue to the hamlet of La Calquière, about 2.5 km further on. 5. Then walk up the road for about 300 m. Next, turn right and take the small dirt path up to the hamlet of La Rivière.
