The Ringweg

From the starting point on Talstraße we first go uphill and keep right at the Parkhotel Sonne towards Schönenberg. Here the Felsenweg initially rises steeply but then becomes flatter again. At the intersection of Felsenstraße / Eggenrüttestraße, we turn left until we reach Schönenbergerstraße and cross it at the golf course towards the tennis courts. On the right side, between the golf course and tennis courts, a small park with a hut and a water treading pool invites you to linger. We then continue past the tennis courts, keep slightly left and follow the paved road a little way through a glacially formed side valley. After heavy rainfalls, a small lake sometimes forms here. After a few minutes on the path, we come to a barbecue hut and turn left above the riding arena and stables. On a sometimes wider, sometimes narrower path through fir woods, we stroll up to the Bennets-Muths-Hütte. The hut is located above the Brand district. From here, we enjoy the view offered to us. Passing through mighty Douglas firs over 100 years old and up to 50m high, after a short time, we come to a covered bench that offers us again a very nice view of Schönau. We continue through the shady woods, finally crossing Schönenberger Straße again, this time a bit lower than before, and turn into Zinkenweg, which ends at the Parkhotel Sonne. Through the town center of Schönau, we return to the starting point at Rathausplatz.
