The reservoir path

The hike starts from the Teisendorf Tourist Info to the former post office, then turn right to Marktstraße; at the Marktapotheke head west and after a few meters turn right into Holzhauser Straße (opposite the junction of house no. 41, former caretaker's house with bay window extensions from the 17th century), following Holzhauser Straße over the Sur river, then gently uphill to the railway underpass; immediately after, turn right towards Herrnlehen, before the chapel turn right again onto the meadow and forest path to Gumperting (beautiful view of the Berchtesgaden Alps).

Shortly before the village at the forest edge turn left, before the bee house turn right downhill through the forest into the Surtal; downstream on the left of the Sur, along the reservoir lake (meeting with path no. 13) to the dam crest of the Sur reservoir (see below: Heimat an der Sur); cross the dam (meeting with path no. 42), but go along the left bank of the reservoir, after about 200 m turn left onto the forest path slightly uphill to the hamlets Doppeln and Wimm (wonderful mountain panorama) continue on the driveway to Wimmern (description with path no. 42); at the village exit turn right, cross the small European bridge to Gumperting (house no. 21 farmhouse, log building with gable roof, purlin painting 18th century) continue to Espannhausen, through the railway underpass, then left through the district Öd (no. 5 farmhouse with tall hipped roof, timber framing, fresco around 1800) back to Teisendorf.
