The Raised Bog Trail

Raised bogs are the home of numerous rare plants and animal species under protection. From Lüsen you drive by car over the paved Höfestraße to Gasthof Tulper (1627 m). From the guesthouse it goes westwards through the forest (marking 14) and shortly over the Höfestraße to Wieserhof, then continue on the path to Gschlorerhof. From there, ascending on forest paths, you hike northwards over alpine pastures to Roner Alm (1832 m), then eastwards on the old alpine path to the Pianer Kreuzkapelle (marking 2). Passing beautifully located alpine pastures with wide views, the alpine road leads to a junction from which you turn left to Rastnerhütte (1931 m) or go straight ahead to Starkenfeldhütte (1936 m). After a rest, you return on the alpine path to a fork (wood hut on the right side), from where you head south down past the raised bog (marking 3) and over the alpine path back to the starting point at Gasthof Tulper.
