The short, leisurely walk follows in the footsteps of the philosophers from the town center to the former Schlageter Monument and back to the town center.

From the town center and the town hall in Schönau, go along Talstraße, passing the Parkhotel Sonne on the right. Continue up the Felsenweg towards the Protestant mountain church. Follow Eggenrüttestraße to the end, turn left through the Gate of Heavenly Peace, and follow the relatively narrow path that winds serpentinely up to the former Schlageter Monument. This offers a wonderful view of the town center of the small Black Forest town. Passing the monument, we cross individual pastures located along the Philosopher's Path. A few hundred meters before the sports field in Aitern, keep left, following the narrow Anton-Schelshorn path until it ends. Now follow the blue rhombus on one of the many ridge access paths (serpentine path) to the end of the Philosopher's Path at Hasenheim. Above the shore of the Letzberg Pond, take a short detour down to the shore of the small pond. Then return on narrow, well-walkable paths to the main path, passing rock, primeval forest, pastures, and a high forest to Letzbergstraße and from there back to the center of Schönau. Along the path’s edge, there are always benches and numerous panels with poems and thoughts about hiking, nature, and the forest, which also give the path its name.
