The hike leads through beautiful mountain forests on the sunny side of the Antholz valley.
Ascent: From the northern edge of Antholz Mittertal (1258 m; parking lot) northwards on a narrow farm road up to the Egger farms (1348 m), here follow the marker 3/12 to the right on the forest path, gently ascending to the Berger and Brennalm and a bit further until the Mittertal high path branches off to the left (1675 m; a little further east the Schwörzalm with refreshments); from the starting point 1½ hours. High path: From the mentioned junction, follow the marked high path 12 through sparse forest uphill for a good stretch, then crossing the forest slopes at about 1800 m to a forest path, on this briefly downhill, then turning right again onto the high path, soon crossing the Egger creek (bridge), then mostly gently descending forest crossing (always path 12) to the end of the high path at a bend of a forest road (1570 m; about 10 minutes further south the Kumpfleralm with a place to stop); from the start of the high path 1½ hours.
