The impressive loop along the water is ideal for families and nature lovers. Throughout the route, there are interesting information boards about the legend and history of the gorge. The Leutasch Ghost Gorge offers a rare erosion spectacle: because different hard limestones – Jurassic limestone and Wetterstein limestone – meet here, this impressively steep river valley was formed. The gorge was only made continuously accessible to tourists in 2006. Steel paths and bridges were installed in an EU-funded German-Austrian joint project over a length of 970 m – the development of the longest accessible gorge of the eastern limestone Alps, measuring 1650 m, cost 1.4 million euros. 40 information points provide interesting and entertaining content around the Leutasch Ghost Gorge, also for children.
