On the dam path, the hiker experiences the wonderful nature around the Wahnbachtalsperre on mostly natural paths time and again. There are views far beyond the dam from many places. Adventurous, sometimes narrow and often historic hiking trails accompany the hiker downhill and uphill. Since 1958 a mill, two pubs, and two farms have been flooded. 5.8 km long, up to 124 m deep, and filled with up to 43.18 million m3 of water, the Wahnbachtalsperre supplies drinking water to around 800,000 people. This beautiful theme route passes by small villages and often even right through them.
