This path is one of the most beautiful hikes in the national park. In addition to stunning panoramic views and solitary mountain landscapes, there are almost year-round blooming mountain meadows with Spanish broom and heather. This encouraged people many generations ago to settle bee colonies here. The "Path of the Beehives" is an interesting themed trail that leads to places where beekeeping has been practiced for almost 500 years.
From Miradouro da Junceda, we hike to Casa Florestal da Junceda, an abandoned forester's house. The path passes by the house and leads towards a small pine forest. After 5 minutes, we pass a spring on the left, shortly after the path branches off to the right and goes gently downhill (left: return route). We cross a dry creek bed and now hike steeper downhill. After about 20 minutes, the path passes a large rock bearing a small stone wall. This structure from the 15th or 16th century used to hold beehives, the Silha dos Ursos I. The path descends steeply again and after another 20 minutes, we reach massive old stone walls that also housed beehives – Silha dos Ursos II. This structure likely dates from the 16th or 17th century. After the visit, we return along the same path towards Silha dos Ursos I. Shortly before it, the path branches to the right and climbs steeply over rocky terrain. After about 30 minutes, we come to a crossroads where we turn right. The path is now easier and
