On the eastern loop of the "Tannheimer Tal circular hiking trail," you find yourself in an even more impressive landscape than on its western loop. Here, the mountains come closer together, the slopes rise steeper and higher, and the view of the surrounding peaks is even more spectacular. A larger section of the tour runs along the wide water surface of Lake Halden, which invites you to take a refreshing swim on hot days. But the real eye-catchers are the peaks Schartschrofen, 1973 m, Gimpel, 2176 m, and Rote Flüh, 2111 m, whose rocky and steep southern faces grow close enough to touch into the sky.
From the West parking lot in Tannheim, walk along the road eastward to the church in the center of Tannheim. Here, keep left and continue northward. Directly after a large supermarket on the right side of the street, go under the bypass road B199 and continue straight ahead. At an intersection in the district of Berg, 1102 m (near house no. 17), turn right (not half right) and leave the small village heading east towards Innergschwend. Directly after the restaurant "Beim Öfner" in Innergschwend, 1097 m, turn left through the village and then continue east, signposted towards "Grän."At the following fork, keep right. After the bridge over the Logbach, go straight at the intersection by a small chapel (middle street) into the center of Grän, 1138 m, near the large Hotel Engel. At the intersection at the hotel, go half-right (signs "Meadow path to Haldensee") and follow the Angerweg beneath the church.
