On this hike, you cross three wobbly but harmless suspension bridges over the Maggia River.

On this hike through the enchanting Maggia Valley, you cross three wobbly but harmless suspension bridges. It is great fun for the children. As soon as you get off the bus in Maggia, you go through the underpass and along Via Crosello to the first suspension bridge. At its end, we turn right towards Someo. The path leads through old settlements like Lairè or Torn, through wooded sections, along dry stone walls and terraces with vineyards to the village of Lodano. Less than two kilometers from Lodano, the second suspension bridge is located in Giumaglio. Those who want to shorten the hike here can cross the bridge and take the bus back to Locarno from Giumaglio. Otherwise, stay on the trail and soon reach the last – and also the longest – of the three suspension bridges. We cross this one and reward ourselves by dipping our tired legs into the cool Maggia.
