Beautiful summit hike over several alpine pastures to the Kitzsteingabel (2037 m)
From the Sonneggbrücke, we start over the narrow hiking path about 30 minutes to the Breitenebenalm. From there it becomes briefly steeper. But after about 30 more minutes' walk, we already reach the Karseggalm. Here you have the opportunity to refill your bottles before turning right onto the path to the summit. This initially runs along the forest edge and in the upper area over open terrain. Walking time to the summit from the Karseggalm about 1 hour. At the summit, an incredible view of the surrounding mountain world awaits you.
Author’s recommendation
A stop at the Karseggalm is a must. It is the oldest hut in the valley, about 400 years old. They offer homemade specialties there. Especially the sour cheese and buttermilk are highly recommended!

Roadbook
From the Sonneggbrücke car park, follow a narrow path to the Breitenebenalm, 1,420 m. From the Breitenebenalm towards Karseeggalm, 1,603 m. Before the Karseggalm, hike up to the right along the edge of the forest. After a small hollow, continue over open terrain to the mountain ridge. The final part (about 100 m elevation) to the summit, 2,037 m, is a bit steeper. (Ascent approx. 2 1/2 hours).
