Beautiful summit route above the Sossenalm and the picturesque Kofler lakes
Right at the beginning of the parking lot, a street marked 8 leads to the right to Ebner- and Bacherhof. Follow this with slight ups and downs until the marking turns left onto an alpine path. On this, passing the Lower Kofleralm, you gradually reach the tree line as well as the Upper Kofleralm (2034 m). Just before it, marking 9 again points left to the splendid Kofler lakes. Follow the path, always keeping left over alpine meadows to the first western Kofler lake. Passing this and ascending in increasingly steep hairpin turns, you reach the south ridge of the Stutennock; follow it briefly, then cross to the southwest side. With a short rope protection at the end, you reach the west ridge, which you follow over block terrain to the summit of the Stutennock (2737 m). Descend back to the Kofler lake and then continue to the starting point in Rein.
