At the summit of the Stubnerkogel, a special attraction was created: a platform with a 360-degree panoramic view and a view of Austria's highest mountain, the Großglockner. In addition, one can safely cross a deep abyss between the summit and the mountain restaurant on a 140-meter-long suspension bridge "freely floating." Both structures can be safely walked without significant elevation difference and thus without special physical effort. The half-hour summit circular trail is followed by a hike downhill to the middle or valley station.
From the mountain station, 2220 m, of the Stubnerkogel cable car, we go left (northwards) to the summit of the Stubnerkogel, 2246 m, where we get a good overview of the tourist facilities in its summit area, the suspension bridge, the mountain station with the summit restaurant, and the basket-like observation platform. In the mentioned order, we then go from the summit over the suspension bridge to the guesthouse and further to the "Glocknerblick," 2235 m. After this summit circular trail, we hike eastwards from the mountain station along a road and over scenic grassy slopes down to the middle station, 1778 m. Those who want to continue the descent into the valley can descend on a hiking trail that mostly runs through the forest north (left) of the cable car route but crosses it several times again, down to the valley station of the Stubnerkogel cable car.
