The Strada Tagliafuoco route starts from the Santuario della Madonna dell'Angelo in Piovene Rocchette and runs along a historic connecting path used by mountain districts for transporting wood, fodder, and farming tools. The walk crosses mixed beech and hornbeam forest, alternating more open stretches with views of the valley below. The route gets its name from its original function: a "fire break" or forest road that allowed controlled removal of dead wood and forest management. Along the path there are remains of dry stone walls, ancient paving, and some areas with panoramic views over the Val Leogra and Vicentine hills. It is a trail that combines simplicity and beauty, perfect for those who want to discover a quiet corner of the Vicentine mountains without strenuous effort.
The road ends at the intersection with the via crucis path that climbs Monte Summano.
The trail can be traveled in both directions.
