Above Mohrenstein stands the Marnstein ruin. Remains can still be found.Roadbook
Start from the church in Störnstein. Descend via stairs down to the main village street. Cross Floß on the bridge with the Nepomuk statue. Cross the very large main thoroughfare. Opposite, briefly cross-country on a footpath to the Bockerl bike path. Follow this path to the right, downhill.
Continue on this bike path. After the new wooden bridge, go left, and immediately left again, down to the Girnitz. From here follow the Goldsteig feeder (blue) to Dipoltsreuth. If you want to go to the Doost, follow the Doost signs and the Goldsteig feeder to this natural monument. Afterwards, return to Dipoltsreuth and the Plödt guesthouse.
From there, follow the small road (marked with a blue circle) northeast. Cross the St3295. Continue in the forest on this marking. The blue Saint George's cross appears. Cross a clearing with an ascent. At the next forest edge, you meet the red Saint Andrew's cross. Turn left here and briefly follow the forest edge. At the "corner" of this clearing, follow the red Saint Andrew's cross to the right and finally reach Mohrenstein. It feels a bit lost. Around the houses and up the road towards Püchersreuth. At the height, the white-blue-slanting path branches off to the left. Follow this back to Störnstein.
After the sports field and fish ponds, do not follow the road up (right), but the gravel path to the left (slightly downhill). This path brings you back to Störnstein in a slight right curve.
