The deserted valley
From Maloja you walk to the less known and desolate Val Fedoz. You go all the way to the back of the valley to the foot of the Piz de la Margna and return along the other side back to Sils Maria.

You start the hike at the head of Lej da Segl (Capolago) and follow the shore path on the right side of the lake. At Plan Brüsciabraga (1818m) you choose at the signposted fork: Val Fedoz. The broad jeep track gradually climbs to a farm (beware of dogs when crossing the yard).
From now on you follow a narrow mountain path and follow the Aua da Fedoz upstream ... you go further into the desolate valley ...
Where the valley is at its narrowest, you cross the river. A few houses, a table with benches and a beautiful view of the glaciers at the end of the valley ... the ideal setting for a picnic.
For the return trip, take the path on the other side of the valley and walk downstream to an abandoned stable. Here the path turns away from the valley. At every fork that follows, choose the direction Sils Maria.
Eventually you arrive in the center of Sils-Maria at the post office, where you take the bus back to Sankt Moritz.
