Challenging but worth it
You start the hike at Plaun da Lej, the square by the lake halfway between Sils and Maloja. The Piz Grevasalvas is a peak northwest of Maloja and is very popular with ski tourers. To the south of Piz Grevasalvas lies the Lunghin lake, the source of the river Inn.

The hike starts at Plaun da Lej, the square by the lake located between Sils and Maloja. Near the (trout) restaurants you’ll find the connection to the wide, winding and well-marked hiking trail to Grevasalvas … the Heidi village and picturesque location of one of the film adaptations of the eponymous girls' trilogy written by the Swiss Johanna Spyri.
At the T-junction, take a right and weave through the village. The hiking trail now becomes narrower and climbs under a rock face to a 'crossroads' of paths. Here you go straight on and further ascend towards Piz Grevasalvas.
You pass the first turn to the right towards 'Fuorcla Grevasalvas'. A little further on, you find a second turn on the right which you follow towards Piz Grevasalvas. At Lej Nair you can take a short break.
Beyond Lej Nair begins the challenging part of the climb to Piz Grevasalvas. Sure-footedness, good visibility, and dry weather conditions are required when starting the last stretch to the summit. Once the summit is reached, you are treated to a beautiful view of the Engiadina, Piz and Lägh dal Lunghin, ...
The return route partly follows the outbound route. Beyond Lej Nair, you follow the path to the T-junction. Here you turn left and then right to Blaunca. You follow the course of the Ova dal Mulin.
Arriving at Blaunca, turn left and follow the wide road to Grevasalvas. Then you’ll find the sign to the path towards Plaun da Lej on the right from where you take the bus to St. Moritz.
Variant 1:
On your way back, you can choose in Blaunca to turn right towards Maloja. You then walk for quite a while on the "Via Engiadina" and keep walking at the same elevation to Plan di Zoch. Here you turn left and descend steeply to the hamlet of Pila. A little further on, the hiking trail meets the road at the height of the Maloja Palace. You continue right and thereby reach the Maloja Posta bus stop.
Variant 2:
If you want a bit more adventure at the end of the hike, choose in Blaunca the small path straight ahead that runs to the right of the river and 'hides' somewhere between the houses. Where the path leaves the riverbank, walk a bit further and on your left side find the connection to the path to Buaira and Splüga. At the fork, turn left to Buaira (a few houses). The wide road again follows the riverbank and at a large hairpin bend connects with the hiking trail to Plaun da Lej, which you take on the right.
Variant 3:
You can also do the hike in reverse direction ...
