The information about fitness only applies to the point-to-point hike to Eppingen. Anyone wanting to hike from Flehingen to Sternenfels should be aware of the additional 7 kilometers!
Meadows and forests alternate, making it a fairly sunny hike.
The highlights are:
Sternenfels Schlossbergturm - From the end of April to early October, the kiosk is open. However, the tower is not on the route - but definitely worth a detour!
Riesenhof near Ochsenburg - You can admire a collection of historical tools and objects there. The Riesenhof was once the feudal estate of the lords of Sternenfels.
A detour there is definitely worthwhile.
Mühlbach - Especially the many sandstone and half-timbered buildings are a feast for the eyes!
Also, the view that opens up when you walk on the outskirts towards Eppingen is worth seeing!
Eppingen - a half-timbered town with character - is shown on the welcome sign at the town's edge.
A beautiful small town with cozy spots and a lovely pedestrian zone.
There are plenty of cafes and beer gardens, and Eppingen has a lot to offer besides!

Roadbook
From the center of Sternenfels, we first walk along the main street towards Leonbronn. Shortly before leaving the town, turn right at the horse farm onto main hiking trail 8. We follow this to Ochsenburg, where we first cross district road 2060. We continue a bit along trail 8 until we reach district road 2149 to Mühlbach. We cross the road and walk along a field path that follows the road for a bit, continuing on the field path as it goes straight. Shortly before the end of the path, turn left onto the forest path and hike partly steeply downhill to Mühlbach.
In Mühlbach, it is recommended to visit the town center. A short rest can be considered there. For this, turn left onto the street at the town entrance.
Anyone who wishes can also continue straight ahead to the "Bildstöckkle" monument. If you walk through the town, you can turn right again at the Protestant church; following Frankenstraße also leads to the Bildstöckle.
From Frankenstraße perspective, continue straight on a field path.
On the left, you can already see the town of Eppingen. After a short distance, we turn left, then left again, and immediately right at the bench. On this section, you can catch a glimpse of Ravensburg between Mühlbach and Sulzfeld.
The path now leads fairly straight towards Eppingen. Passing the Moonlight Ranch, we soon reach state road 1110 (Eppingen - Kleingartach), which we cross. Then we walk a bit parallel to L110 to the left and then turn right uphill towards Eppingen. The path passes the Jewish main cemetery and continues straight downhill to Eppingen.
The route is still marked into the pedestrian zone and further to the station.
However, it is recommended to plan a lengthy rest in Eppingen!
I wish you a lot of enjoyment on the hike!
