Spring loop around the Stoffelberg

Alpine panorama guaranteed: This leisurely circular hike offers wonderful views of the Allgäu Alps and the green hills of the Oberallgäu. From the Alpenblick restaurant high above Niedersonthofener See, the route goes clockwise around the Stoffelberg. You first walk across sunny, green meadows where cows graze in summer. There are several fenced-in rest areas and information boards about nature along the Stoffelberg trail. At the westernmost point of the loop, you come to an asphalt road, which you follow to the right around the Stoffelberg. Here the trail leads mostly through the forest, often with beautiful views to the north of the villages and meadows of the Allgäu foothills of the Alps. Finally, the circular route leads back downhill to Gasthof Alpenblick, where the sun terrace invites you to take a leisurely break with a view of Lake Niedersonthofen. The walk is particularly beautiful in spring when there is still snow on the mountains to the south.
