Small circular route from the Saalfeld Feengrotten over the Spitzberg to the Spitzberg hut and back to the Feengrotten.
This circular route offers beautiful views over the Saale city of Saalfeld, whether at the forest edge with fields in the foreground, at the Spitzberg hut, or at the Schwarmblick viewpoint.
From the starting point at the Feengrotten, you walk towards the Saalfeld city center until you reach the federal highway. There, turn left and follow the road for about 100 meters before turning right into the residential area. Following the path, you pass the Larch Grove on the left. Along the forest edge, it goes to the Spitzberg spring. From there, take the zigzag path up to the Spitzberg and the Spitzberg hut located there. From then, the path leads about 150 meters downhill to the next intersection where you keep right and follow the forest road to the Haarweidenbusch. Now you have reached the highest point of the hike and walk downhill again to the Schwarmblick. Here you can enjoy the magnificent view before a small path leads down into the valley and back to the starting point.
