It goes along the original Spirkelbacher Höhenweg (2024). The highlight of the tour is especially the long ridge hike over the Rindsberg.
First, it goes to the rock massif Prälatenkammer, where clergy hid during the world wars. From the shelter "Alte Röder", the 2 km long ridge hike leads to the "Wackelstein", whose upper rock slab is not connected to the rest of the rock. On the ridge, we repeatedly encounter old boundary stones from the late 17th century (Napoleonic wars). The ridge hike ends at the Buchholzfelsen with fantastic views of the Annweiler castle trio. After 1.5 km of "Hatsch-Strecke", you reach the impressive west pillar of the Rindsberg, a popular climbing rock. Finally, to the beautiful forest pond (Schafwoog).
Orientation: almost continuously sufficiently signed, only strangers need a map / GPS. Types of paths: 50% narrow trails, 40% forest roads, 10% road. Dining options: none.
