Two forces have shaped this gorge: the Travignolo river has carved a deep channel into the rock, and then humans extracted the now exposed porphyry. Our outward route follows a wide forest path between rocks and roaring water. As a special attraction, the municipality built a suspension bridge over the river in 2015. From there, we have a swinging view of the wild waters 20 meters below us. The return goes one level higher through the forest. The tall fir trees balance on and between massive boulders.
From the fork in the path, we take the level gravel road and pass the stable. After descending and crossing the stream, there is a house on the left, then a house on the right. The latter is called Maso Roncach and will be frequently mentioned on signposts. At the edge of the forest, a steep path joins from the left; this is the path we will take on the return. First, we continue straight on the wide path and past the bridge (from the bridge, there is a beautiful view into the gorge). Thanks to the information board with map, we can get an overview. Always on the wide path against the flow of the stream, we pass the former quarries, where climbers enjoy themselves today. A path on the left (signposted "Maso Roncach") does not interest us. Shortly afterwards, we see a house above, called Maso Andreola, which we approach via a very steep, paved path (signposted among others "Scofa"). After the curve, we stand under Maso Andreola and turn right onto the path along the fence. We meet
