The Sorgschrofen dominates the village of Jungholz like a defiant fortress. With its modest height of just over 1600 meters, this rocky ridge is particularly eye-catching, forming a sharp contrast to the gentle, rounded peaks that otherwise characterize this landscape. The ascent is short, lively and varied, but the path leads through real craggy terrain and is therefore only suitable for confident hikers.
From the large parking lot in Jungholz, we take the road to the left (south), past the "Verkehrsamt" bus stop and the lifts, up to the Volksbank building (Jungholz 60). There we turn left towards Älpele and Sorgschrofen and follow the path steeply uphill. It first runs through the forest, then over clearings and in serpentines we reach the Alpe Älpele, 1336 m.From the Alpe we cross over to the mountain station of the two drag lifts. Here we keep to the right and climb steeply uphill over mats (slippery at times) to the north ridge, 1460 m, with a beautiful view to the east, e.g. of the Aggenstein. At the ridge, turn right (south-west) to reach the rocks via the ridge. Then we leave the ridge and cross the steep slopes to the right until we reach a gully. In the rocky and debris-rich terrain (do not kick any debris loose!), we climb carefully up to just below the ridge. Keeping to the right, we continue up a steep section to a headland. From here, we descend again briefly and then climb
