From Gloggnitz station by bus 343 to Maria Schutz Kirchenplatz. From here along the forest road (Schwarzenbergweg) until the road ends. Then the hiking trail southwards and at Marterl westwards via Doppelreiterhütte (mountain rescue Schottwien) to the Erzkogel 1504 m, continuing to the Polllereshütte and up to the viewpoint on the Sonnwendstein 1523 m. Now back a little for the descent via the Almsteig further to Greis near Maria Schutz. From here towards the Semmering pass to Semmering station.
