The Solothurn riverside path lives up to its name: It always runs along the bank of the Aare – from Solothurn to the sports center in Zuchwil. The route is marked as the «Solothurn riverside path» with a special signpost, as it is one of the «barrier-free paths» of Schweiz-Mobil. From Solothurn station, follow the path briefly towards the city center, quickly reaching the Kreuzacker bridge, keep right at the bridge and then always follow the marked riverside path to Zuchwil. Along the way, there are always beautiful views of the Aare and the Jura heights, and there are enough benches for relaxing breaks by the water. At the sports center in Zuchwil, there is a bus stop, from where you can take the bus back to Solothurn station in a few minutes. The short hike can of course also be done in the opposite direction. This is especially advantageous if you want to stroll through the old town of Solothurn directly after the hike.
