MONTEGRAPPA OUTDOOR
Do you want to immerse yourself in the history of the Grappa Massif without giving up breathtaking views and hiking-level elevation changes? The Solaroli Ridge is a stunning grassy ridge suspended between the plain and the mountains with views ranging from the Lagorai to the Little Dolomites, from the Belluno Dolomites to the Asiago Plateau and south from the Apennines to the Gulf of Trieste. It will truly be a beautiful hike to discover one of the most fascinating corners of Monte Grappa.
Pian dela Bala - Cima Grappa - Croce dei Lebi - Col dell'orso - Forcella Valderoa - Casera Domador - Val delle Mure - Pian dela Bala
The Solaroli Ridge is a must of Monte Grappa and an experience all trekking enthusiasts want to live. Included along the Altavia degli Eroi, the Solaroli path runs along the ridge from Cima Grappa to Forcella di Valderoa. The loop itinerary starts from Pian dela Bala and includes an initial climb to Casone Val di Melin, then continues along path 151 with about 350 meters of elevation gain to Cima Grappa where a visit to the monumental complex of Cima Grappa with the Sacrario overlooking the plain is recommended. The hike continues along path 156 all along the ridge crossing Croce dei Lebi, Col dell'Orso, Monte Solarol up to Forcella Valderoa offering postcard-worthy views. This part of the route crosses the Altavia degli Eroi, connecting Feltre to Cima Grappa with the possibility to continue to Bassano del Grappa, and its name indicates how strategic this northeastern ridge of the Grappa Massif was for the outcomes of the First World War, so much so that it sacrificed thousands of young lives to whom we owe eternal gratitude. From the pass, turn right and quickly reach Malga Solarol and Malga Domador. From there, take the forest road leading to Baito Col dell'Orso and Malga Cason del Sol where Val delle Mure opens which takes us to the homonymous little lake, which we pass keeping left, and proceed towards Casone Boccaor following the path that leads back to the starting point.
