This tourist spot is the most prominent landmark around Snina. You can ascend this peak from three starting points: Zemplínske Hámre, Remetské Hámre, and Sninské rybníky. During this route, tourists can make a detour to the lake Morské oko, formed by volcanic activity and the third-largest natural lake in Slovakia.

We start the hike in Zemplínske Hámre at the quarry, where there is free parking. We have two directions to choose from: the green or the yellow trail. We select the hiking trail marked yellow, which leads through a stream into the forest. A few meters beyond the village, signs warn us that we are entering the Valaškovce Military District. The trail goes through a beautiful beech forest. We ascend towards the Tri tably saddle, where hiking trails from four directions meet. Here you can turn off, among others, to Morské oko or Vihorlat (the highest peak of the Vihorlat Mountains). We continue on the red trail towards Sninský kameň. After about 40 minutes, we arrive at Sninský kameň. After climbing the iron stairs up to the rock, magnificent views open up of the Vihorlat Mountains, Morské oko, Snina, nearby villages, and even the Starina reservoir. If you want to also visit the Morské oko lake, descend back to the Tri tably saddle, from where we follow the blue trail. Since the path leads downhill, it is possible to get there in a short time. At the lake itself, you can enjoy the surrounding beauty, but it is strictly forbidden to swim there. The return is via the same route we came.
