We start at the parking lot of the Hotel and Camping Franzlhof. From there we follow the signs for Großer/Kleiner Plöven. After the Schnaps distillery Koller (approx. 200m) we turn right. The path is very well signposted and marked (red/white/red). From now on it goes steadily uphill. Ascent approx. 2 hours.
At the ridge up top, you can choose whether to go over the Schwoicher Kreuz (small Plöven) or the Mittagskogel. We turn right over the Schwoicher Kreuz following the signs for Schwoicher Kreuz/Söll. After about 30 minutes we reach the Schwoicher Kreuz and enjoy the wonderful view.
Now we follow the signs for Schwoich / Söll. Very quickly, it goes steeply downhill and requires utmost concentration. The most difficult spots are secured with steel cables. After the steepest descents are mastered, the path splits. We continue towards Söll (signposted). It now passes several alpine pastures. Unfortunately, none were managed. Thus, our brought supplies of food and drinks had to suffice. The path now goes steadily slightly uphill and downhill until we finally return to Söll.
