Small loop over the hill

From the Cologne Eifel hut to Odenbach Street and always uphill into the Odenbach valley. Just before the barbecue hut, turn left onto the Panorama Trail and climb up to the edge of the forest. At St. Hubertus, turn right, uphill to Schärpeberg. At the fork, you can choose either path, as they rejoin after about one kilometer. After merging, continue a bit further straight onto the clearing for the gas pipeline. Here, following the hiking trail to the right, you reach the open high plateau, first passing on the right, then in a wide left curve past groves until you can see Neuenhof and Scheidbaum. Then walk right directly toward the forest edge. Follow the forest edge to the right to the National Park map, where you turn left into the forest.

At the shelter (mushroom), bear slightly right to the large four-way intersection. Here again bear slightly right downhill, past broom bushes, until at a right curve (the further path is closed from here) a path on the left leads to a somewhat hidden further weather mushroom. Here begins a path that descends steeply in switchbacks to the forest trail, which you follow to the right back into the Odenbach valley, where the loop closes. Return via Odenbach Street to the starting point.
