Above Zell, the impressive castle ruins of Hohenfrey- and Eisenberg tower on two opposite mountain peaks. They are among the most impressive castle complexes in Bavaria.
The small castle route is especially a real hiking highlight for children. On the castle route, little explorers can have a great time while parents enjoy the fantastic panoramic view of the Pfronten valley and the Alpine panorama. The route leads over partly narrow, partly somewhat steeper hiking trails to the impressive Hohenfreyberg and Eisenberg castles. The castles are always accessible to visitors and have beautiful viewpoints. After exploring the castle ruins, a visit to the cozy Schlossbergalm is recommended.
