Due to its almost island-like location between Lochs Rannoch, Tummel and Tay, its almost flawless pyramid shape and its height, Schiehallion is a special mountain as soon as you approach it. The fact that it arouses the desires of hikers is proven by the number of around 20,000 ascents per year. If you want to take it easy, come during the week and early in the morning. Otherwise the parking lot at Braes of Foss is quickly overcrowded.
