This summit has two very different faces: from the south, Slavkovský štít is a broad, rounded scree dome (see p. 8 in the center of the picture), while to the north, on the side of the Veľká Studená dolina, steep, wildly rugged rock faces descend. Our route now turns left and leads northwest to west along the broad ridge, continuously gaining height. After a rather lengthy march over monotonous scree and many small hills, we finally reach sections with an open view into the Veľká Studená dolina valley and to the Lomnický štít.
