The hiking trails mostly run through the forests of the municipalities of Kaub, Dörscheid, and Weisel. The Tiefenbachtal valley provides the backdrop for these hiking trails, especially for variants B and C. In this valley are also the two former slate mines "Kreuzberg" and "Glückauf".
Important note: The slate loops B and C also lead through "Dörscheider Wald". The municipality of Dörscheid has prohibited us from marking hiking trails there. Please best use GPS navigation for this path or use the map (flyers with an overview map are also available at the information board).

ATTENTION!!! Please note!!! A long time ago, the municipality of Dörscheid acquired forest from Weisel. This hiking trail goes through "Dörscheider Wald".
The municipality of Dörscheid has forbidden us to signpost hiking trails in this area!
Please use GPS navigation for this path!
We start on Jahnstraße towards Altpforter Straße and cross it at the height of the Blücher monument. Behind the Blücher monument, a path leads us down to a service road. After about 300 m, we make a small detour to the Roman burial mound.
We follow the signage and have a nice panoramic view over the Hunsrück at the top. After crossing the asphalt road, we take a right for the middle route variant B. Shortly after, the path leads downhill into the Tiefenbachtal valley.
At Neuweger Berg, we take a hairpin turn and after some time reach the Tiefenbach. Here we find a small waterfall. We now follow the Tiefenbach further in the direction of the spring.
Passing the former Glückauf mine, we cross the Tiefenbach after some time and then reach the Kreuzberg mine. Here, a residential house and various utility buildings still exist, where a local sculptor has found his home.
We follow the path up to the junction where the middle route variant B separates from the longer C variant. The path leads us to the paved service road that runs from the L339 to the Kreuzberg mine. However, we leave this after 200 m and turn left.
Here we soon meet the short route variant A and follow the signage through the new development area "Auf dem Dewald" to Birkenweg and further to the Blücher monument. We cross Altpforter Straße again here and walk back to the starting point of the tour.
Postscript February 2023:
Unfortunately, we found that signs have been "manipulated" on almost all paths. Signs have been torn down or scribbled on, posts uprooted and stolen, or reinstalled in a twisted way.
At first, we tried to replace the missing signage, but by now we lack new signs and capacity to continuously check the paths.
Therefore, we strongly recommend using navigation for the hike and looking at the map.
The reasons for so much vandalism can only be speculated on here.
