The Siebensteinkopf is a relatively easy summit to climb on the Czech border with good distant views into the Šumava National Park to the east, but also to the Lusen to the west. The hiking border crossing there allows this route to be extended by a loop to the Moldau spring.
The described variant descends via the Reschbachklause, an idyllic reservoir at the foot of the Siebensteinkopf.

From the parking lot, we return to the road and follow it to the next parking lot with a national park overview sign.
At the sign, we hike north on the trail (marked "Waldkauz") with a curve eastward to the Siebensteinkopf.
From the summit (summit cross) with a beautiful view, the route first goes north toward the Moldau spring and then left southwest downhill along the border to the Reschbachklause.
At the Reschbachklause, we hike downhill on the western side of the creek to the next bridge. Crossing the bridge, we follow the Schwellgraben back to the starting point.
