The path partly follows the premium hiking trail Geierlay Loop but shortens it. This route briefly goes through the village, then follows a path over 1.8 km to the suspension bridge. A spectacular experience. After crossing the bridge, it loops under the bridge where you can view the bold construction from below once again. Then it descends into the valley to the Mörsdorf stream and the uphill return back to the starting point. The ascent is short and steep. Most of the route runs through forest and is doable even in heat. Types of paths: 40% trail share, 40% gravel forest roads, the rest paved. Orientation: well signposted, but the abundance of signs can sometimes confuse. Inexperienced hikers should bring a map or GPS. Eateries: Bangkok, Gasthaus Pension Wendling, and country inn.
Author’s recommendation
Open 24/7, closures only during storms, thunderstorms & maintenance work.
Secure your phone on the bridge: fits exactly between the wooden planks of the decking.

No objective hazards Anxious persons should be aware that the bridge sways even in light wind. The wooden planks must be 'floatingly' mounted to allow expansion/contraction of the wood. They may seem loose, but they are not.Tips and suggestions
