A relatively new hiking trail is the Seven Ponds Path presented here, from Völser Aicha to the St. Konstantin Pond near the famous church jewel. In addition to the little-known Oachner Pond, the route passes by the atmospherically situated waters of the Umser, Völser, Huber, Gflierer, and Salmseiner ponds, although not all deserve the designation, as the Umser and Salmseiner ponds prove to be purely firefighting or irrigation ponds. The 16-kilometer trail, marked with its own logo, offers a varied hike at the foot of the Schlern walls, through forests and over magnificent larch meadows with views extending to the Central Alps, the Ortler, and the heights of the Brenta. It is recommended for every fit hiker, with the return to the starting point ensured by the hourly line bus.
From the village square in Völser Aicha follow the local road past the Oachner Wirt (closed) eastwards uphill, later on the asphalted Brunnweg, past the church, to the fork at the crucifix. Left onto the asphalted driving path No. 7, under the LS 65 Völs – Tiers road, steeply uphill over meadows towards the northeast to Kohlerhof, then on a natural driving path into a gully with a fork at the forest edge, 975 m. Right on the green driving path No. 7 through woodland and bushes uphill towards the northeast, later level across magnificent larch meadows into the gentle meadow saddle Schnaggenkreuz, 1015 m, between Aichaberg and Völseggspitze. A surprising view up towards the colossal rock face of the Schlern! At the crucifix turn right off the path No. 7 and ascend on a beautiful forest path southwards to the atmospherically situated Oachner Pond, 1040 m (also called “Großmoos Pond”; wooden hut with fountain), which is circled counterclockwise on a lovely shore path.Return to the fork at
