Seurasas, Ladin for "above the rock," is the name of the hut and alpine pasture on the southern slopes of Pitschberg. Thanks to a dream location opposite the highlights of Val Gardena – Sella, Langkofel, Schlern – and easy access from the Cristauta parking lot via St. Christina, the house, operated as a refreshment stop, already represents a top hiking destination by itself. For those who want to go further, the described loop via Crujeta, Ballest, and the little church of St. Jakob is recommended, as well as the Pitschberg crossing to Cucasattel – both are tours that undoubtedly belong to the top tier of hiking in Val Gardena.
From the Cristauta parking lot on a natural road through meadows and sparse larch forest uphill to the crossing road No. 4, 1778 m. Keeping right, do not take it but the footpath No. 4 slightly lower through larch forest northeastwards moderately steep uphill to the left turnoff of trail No. 41. Cross the natural road and continue through beautiful mountain coniferous forest first northwest, then north, steep and direct, later less steep further on and after crossing a ditch in hairpin bends up to the feeder road. On this (trail No. 20) soon through meadows and sparse Swiss pine stands to the Baita Seurasas, 2020 m, in a scenic position high above the Val Gardena.
