No one hikes around the Settsass without explicit recommendation! Its shapes are too unattractive, its neighbors' too dominant. Precisely for this reason, the recommended circular route should not be overlooked. Accompanied by the whistling of marmots, it presents grand mountain panoramas from a respectful distance in a continuous stream and also allows a detour to the Settsass summit with relatively little time and effort.
From the Valparola Pass on path no. 23 and 24 through the shallow grassy basin around Lago di Valparola descending southwest to a junction. Left on path no. 23 further down the basin, then down a rock groove (wire rope) 10 m and to the right to another fork. Left on an initially poorly marked path along the slopes, level, then in the forest up and down through a block zone, finally through thinning woodland and across meadows (marmots!) southwest upwards into a shallow grassy basin (left on unmarked path in 10 minutes to Lago Sief!). Up the basin towards the west to a junction. Before reaching the crosswise Sief ridge, there take the marked path straight up to a shoulder (two wooden crosses), north above the Sief saddle. Beyond on path no. 23, along scree slopes, past the Kleine Settsass, then under the walls of Montagna della Corte and northwest along to the cross path no. 24.
