Serole - Olmo Gentile (hiking loop)
Serole is the southernmost municipality in the province of Asti, bordering the provinces of Alessandria, Cuneo, and Savona. The number of inhabitants is slightly higher than that of Olmo Gentile, another pleasant village encountered along the route.
The 16th-century parish church dedicated to Saint Lorenzo and the Baroque-style oratory dedicated to Saint Bernardino (now used for cultural activities) are definitely worth a visit.

Arriving at Serole, a large parking area allows us to park our vehicle.
From this area, we head towards the hamlet of Cuniola on SP 47; after about 500 meters, a path begins on our right (trail marker 502).
After just over 1,800 meters, we turn left onto asphalt and then, continuing for another five hundred meters, continue on the path on our left.
We take variant 502F which leads to the summit of Bric Puschera (845 m asl), the highest point of the Asti Langa.
From Bric Puschera, descend until you reach the provincial road heading towards Roccaverano, here proceed again on path 502.
After about one kilometer along the provincial road (very light vehicle traffic), you arrive at the church of Saint Rocco where there is a small resting area.
You reach the junction at Pian Frascaro, where you turn left towards Olmo Gentile, leaving aside the route towards Roccaverano.
At the entrance of the village, you can use a large parking area with attached services.
After visiting the tiny village of Olmo Gentile with its medieval tower, we return back to continue along the country road that descends on our right.
Further along, you will find a detour to the ruined castle of Serole: unfortunately, to get to Serole, you will cross a path covered by vegetation that would require some maintenance.
At Serole, our loop ends.
