The hike leads through the different terrain levels of the Palfries plateau high above the Seeztal to the former Kurhaus and back again.
We start the hike at the Palfries mountain station. With the Palfries cable car, we have previously overcome around 1,250 meters in elevation in just 12 minutes. The cable car passes over an impressive waterfall (Ragnatscher Bach) and takes us up to the Palfries plateau.
From the mountain station, the hike leads to the Palfries mountain guesthouse, where after the parking lot it continues uphill towards Alvier. "In de Stei" the mountain path branches off to the left and leads us via "Mürli" to Alp Malun. From there it goes over pastures and natural roads to the Hotel Kurhaus Sennis.
After the rest at/in the Hotel Kurhaus Sennis, our path leads mainly along natural roads back to the Palfries mountain station. The section from Alp Castilu to the Stralrüfi mountain restaurant leads over alpine pastures. – The small lake by the Hotel Kurhaus Sennis with the Swiss family fire pit invites us to linger.

Roadbook
From the Palfries mountain station, we hike along the paved alpine road for a length of 500 meters to the Palfries mountain guesthouse. Immediately after the gravelled parking lot, we turn right onto the mountain path towards Alvier. After about half an hour you reach "in de Stei" where it continues to the left. A wonderful alpine spring with the most diverse and beautiful alpine flowers can be experienced on the path to "Mürli" and further towards Alp Malun. The path leads us over alpine pastures and through wetlands. The alp is accessible by a natural road from our intended hiking destination. We follow this for about 400 meters and then again turn left onto a hiking trail.
In "Schwamm" we reach the alpine access road again and follow it to the Hotel Kurhaus Sennis.
From the Kurhaus Sennis we hike back towards Alp Malun. Upon reaching the intersection, take the path towards Schwamm. After Schwamm the path leads us to the viewpoint "Luegi". Here we are surprised with a view over the mountain world, into the Seeztal and to the Walensee. Our route continues towards Alp Castilu. From there we hike over pastures to the forest road towards Alp Älpeli. From here the hike continues towards the Stalrüfi mountain restaurant.
We follow the natural road further to the gravelled parking lot. Upon reaching the Palfries mountain guesthouse we hike along the paved alpine road about 500 meters back to the Palfries mountain station.
