Along with the Poľský hrebeň, the Sedielko (Small Saddle Pass) is the second most logical and technically straightforward crossing in the High Tatras from south to north or vice versa. This saddle has long been traversed by poachers and treasure hunters; the hiking trail here has existed since 1875. From the saddle, a beautiful view opens up both back toward the Malá Studená dolina valley (Lomnický štít, Prostredný hrot) and forward into the high valley of Zadná Javorová dolina (Hinteres Ahorntal), over which tower the mighty rock faces of Široká veža, Ostrý štít, Veľký and Malý Javorový štít, and Javorové veže.

This classic wooden structure was built in 1942–43 at the initiative of the then-tenant of Téryho chata, the mountaineer Štefan Zamkovský. To this day, it remains a very popular rest stop in a convenient location just above the Tatra Main Trails and on the well-traveled hiking trail into the Malá Studená dolina.
