Roadbook
You start the route at the parking lot of the sports field in Weitramsdorf, walk along Weinberg street and turn left onto Schlettacher street. After about 300 m, turn right onto Gauerstadter Berg street. Follow this street for about 2 km to waypoint (WP) 72. The "Gauerstadter Berg" street is the starting point of the former church path to Gauerstadt. At WP 74 "Schwarze Heide" you have a beautiful panoramic view over Weitramsdorf and Weidach as far as the Veste Coburg.
At WP 72, turn left and go to WP 49. At WP 67, you can see the former hunting boundary stone of the lower hunt. Along WP 67 to WP 50, the path continues on the border trail along the state border to Thuringia. At WP 66, you see the sovereignty column on the road to Ummerstadt. The Dreiherrensteine at WP 50 symbolize the border regulation between the Bishopric of Würzburg and the Duchy of Saxe-Coburg at the Trappstadt Recess of 1599. At WP 49, keep left and continue via WP 53 (there is a seating area) to WP 54. Many different legends surround the Stone Cross found here regarding its origin. The Zent stone next to it, with the year 1599, refers to the Trappstadt Recess. At this WP, a detour to the burial mound from the Hallstatt period on the Schafshügel in the forest corner near Geiersbach close to WP 60 is also possible (distance approx. 50–100 m).
From WP 54, continue towards Weitramsdorf to WP 60. The cross stone on the sidewalk in the Thuringian quarter refers to a legend. Follow this path to Schlettacher street and from there back to the starting and finishing point. Before that, in the village center at WP 2, is the Gewerbebaum, which was created in 1977 on the occasion of the 800th anniversary of Weitramsdorf.
